Barry Levinson Among Guests Set for 2012 NY Film Festival

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today the details and participants for the free-to-the-public NYFF LIVE series of filmmaker and film industry conversations at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center (144 W. 6rth Street) and the Apple Store, SoHo (103 Prince Street).

In addition to the NYFF Live talks being free and open to the public on a space available basis, select talks will be streamed LIVE at FilmLinc.com. The NYFF streaming at FilmLinc.com will begin starting with a press conference on Friday, September 28 featuring Ang Lee (LIFE OF PI). Film Society of Lincoln Center has also partnered with YouTube to stream the NYFF Live programs at http://www.youtube.com/filmlinc!

Highlights will include a conversation about the making of LIFE OF PI with Tom Rothman, as well as talks with NYFF filmmakers Lee Daniels (THE PAPERBOY), Barry Levinson (THE BAY), Cristian Mungiu (BEYOND THE HILLS), Sally Potter (GINGER AND ROSA), actors Gael Garcia Bernal (NO) and Greta Gerwig (FRANCES HA). Other events will feature panels sponsored by New York Women in Film and Television, WGA East and Sagindie, a conversation with NYFF’s Richard Peña, and David Thomson discussing and signing his new book, The Big Screen: The Story of the Movies.
