'Annie' Stars Bobby Cannavale, Rose Byrne Set for BROTHER'S KEEPER Film

Showbiz411 reports that real-life couple and "Annie" co-stars Bobby Cannavale and Rose Byrne plan to continue working side by side in the upcoming film BROTHER'S KEEPER. "I guess we're only working together now," quipped Byrne at the premiere of Broadway's "Betrayal."

In the upcoming film remake of Annie, Cannavale portrays the chief political advisor to Benjamin Stacks, (Jamie Foxx) while Byrne takes on the role of Grace Farrell, Stacks' trusted assistant.

"Brother's Keeper" will be directed by 'The Laramie Project's Ross Katz. Nick Kroll also stars in the film to be co-produced by Mark Duplass and Jared Ian Goldman. Shooting is set to get underway in January.

For the second year in a row Cannavale wa nominated for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Dr.Mike Cruz on Showtime's NURSE JACKIE. He won the Emmy for his role of Gyp on HBO'sBOARDWALK EMPIRE.

The actor was nominated for his first Tony Award in his Broadway debut in the immensely talented cast of 2007's MAURITIUS. Joining Cannavale in that show were F. Murray Abraham, Dylan Baker, Katie Finneran, and Alison Pill. Since, he has returned to Broadway three times, including twice in the past year. He was again nominated for a Tony, opposite Chris Rock, in 2011's MOTHERF**KER WITH THE HAT, then he joined Al Pacino (whom we honored yesterday) in the revival of GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS, and finally this spring he starred in the revival of Clifford Odets' THE BIG KNIFE.

Cannavale has also appeared in three dozen films, from the absurd, PAUL BLART MALL COP, to the critically acclaimed WIN WIN, opposite Paul Giamatti, Jeffrey Tambor, and Broadway's Nina Arianda.

Byrne last appeared in The Internship. Her upcoming projects include Tumbledown, This Is Where I Leave You, Townies, Insidious: Chapter 2 and The Turning. Past film credits include I Give It A Year, The Place Beyond the Pines, X-Men: First Class, Bridesmaids, Insidious, Get Him to the Greek, Knowing, Marie Antoinette, Wicker Park and more. She has also appeared in the TV series Damages.
