This season, the Roundabout Theatre Company is reviving the Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine classic: INTO THE WOODS. The revival cast consists of only ten cast members and one piano. The show is set for a limited engagement through March 22nd at the Laura Pels Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre. The 30th Annual Artios Awards were held on January 22nd in New York City. Hosted by Michael Urie, the ceremony honored director Rob Marshall with the New York Apple Award. Marshall recently worked on the Oscar-nominated film INTO THE WOODS. Some of the film's stars joined together onstage to honor him, including Meryl Streep, Christine Baranski, and Tracey Ullman. A revival of Andrew Lippa's 1995 musical JOHN AND JEN is currently being produced by the award-winning Keen Company. Starring Kate Baldwin (Big Fish, Finian's Rainbow) and Conor Ryan (The Fortress of Solitude, Cinderella), the revival is set to begin performances on February 10th, with an official opening night on February 26th. The company gave a special press preview of the show this week, and BroadwayWorld was there to see it. Check out more photos here!

John Cameron Mitchell, original star and book writer of HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, returned to the show's title role on Broadway this Wednesday, January 21st! Mitchell is set to perform in the show for a limited eight-week engagement, alongside Lena Hall, who won a Tony last year for her performance as Hedwig's husband, Yitzhak. Mitchell opened with a stunning performance that included five standing ovations, and BroadwayWorld was there to see it. Click here to see more photos!

Tony and Grammy winner Lin-Manuel Miranda's new musical HAMILTON began previews on Tuesday, January 20th at the Public Theatre. The nearly sold-out engagement will officially open on Tuesday, February 17th and close on April 5th. Starring Miranda, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Christopher Jackson, Brian d'Arcy James, and many more, this original musical is already making its mark on the New York Theatre scene. The cast of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play DISGRACED celebrated one hundred performances on Broadway this week. The play officially opened last October and is scheduled to close in the beginning of March. Starring Hari Dhillon, Gretchen Mol, Josh Radnor, Karen Pittman, and Danny Ashok, the production has enjoyed critical acclaim. The critically-acclaimed cast of the 2014 revival of YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU joined together at God's Love We Deliver, New York City's main provider of nutritious meals for individuals who are unable to cook for themselves. Cast members Anna Chlumsky, Julie Halston, Byron Jennings, Fran Kranz, Reg Rogers and Nick Corley all participated in the event, which took place earlier this week. Click here to see more photos!

16-time Grammy Winner Sting was honored with a caricature at Sardis on Tuesday. Sting's original musical THE LAST SHIP opened on Broadway this fall at the Neil Simon Theatre. Sting joined the cast in mid-December in order to revive ticket sales. The show is set to play its final performance tomorrow, January 24th. Cast members of the show joined Sting at Sardis for the unveiling of his caricature, and BroadwayWorld was there for the celebration! Check out more photos here!

The Tony nominated jukebox musical ROCK OF AGES played its 2,328th and final performance last Sunday, January 18th at the Helen Hayes Theatre. The musical opened in 2009 and is now the 27th longest-running musical in Broadway history. For the final curtain call, past and current members of the show joined together onstage for one last bow. Among the past cast members were Wesley Taylor, Amy Spanger, Jeremy Jordan, and many more. BroadwayWorld was there for the final celebration, and you can check out more photos here!

One of this season's original musicals HONEYMOON IN VEGAS held their Gypsy Robe Ceremony last weekend. The ceremony honored company member Katie Webber as the Broadway "gypsy" who has performed the most Broadway musicals on a chorus contract. BroadwayWorld was there for the celebration, alongside the entire cast, which includes Rob McClure, Brynn O'Malley, and Tony Danza, and the show's composer, Tony Winner Jason Robert Brown.
