NBC's THE VOICE is #1 Show Among Big 4 for Monday Night

"The Voice" (2.8/9 in 18-49, 10.8 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) ranks as the #1 show of the night on the Big 4 in every key demographic - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54. "The Voice" also won the time period among those nets in all key demos. "The Voice" is currently running within a tenth of a point of last week's 18-49 rating and is up in total viewers versus last week's result in these prelim fast-affiliate Nielsens (10.832 million vs. 10.720 million).

"The Voice" will add significant viewership through time-shifting: Last week's "Voice" grew by +24% in 18-49 rating going from "live plus same day" to "live plus three day" Nielsens (from a 2.93 rating to a 3.62) and by 2.0 million viewers overall (from 11.0 million to 13.0 million).

Upscale: Last week's "Voice" was the night's most upscale non-sports show on the Big 4, indexing at 109 among in adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes (100 represents an average concentration of those homes, L+SD).

"The Night Shift" (1.4/4 in 18-49, 5.8 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) is currently matching last week's 18-49 rating (1.4 vs. 1.4) and is up for a second week in a row in total viewers -- up +5% versus last week (5.796 million vs. 5.530 million) and up +15% versus two weeks ago (5.796 million vs. 5.043 million).

"The Night Shift" is at a six-week high in total viewers (best since March 2, 6.1 million viewers).

In the time period, "The Night Shift" is tied for #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in women 18-49, adults 18-34 and men 18-34 and is #1 outright among those nets in women 18-34 and women 25-54.

"The Night Shift" will grow significantly in "live plus seven day" Nielsens: The series has increased by +37% in 18-49 rating this season (from a 1.40 to a 1.92) and 1.7 million viewers overall (5.6 million to 7.3 million) going from L+SD to L+7.

In Late-Night Metered Markets Monday Night:

In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.2/6 with an encore telecast; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.2/6; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.3/6.

In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.8/4 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.5/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.8/4.

From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.4/5 in metered-market households and a 0.5/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.0/4 in metered-market households with an encore) tied CBS's first-run "Late Late Show with James Corden" (1.0/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


For the Week:

NBC has finished #2 in adults 18-49 and total viewers for the primetime week of April 6-12, with gains versus the same week last year of +7% in adults 18-49 rating (1.5 vs. 1.4) and +16% in total viewers (6.3 million vs. 5.4 million). NBC ranked #2 or tied for #2 among the Big 4 networks for the week in every key ratings measure.

"The Voice" delivered three of the week's top five rankings among primetime entertainment telecasts on the Big 4. "The Voice" also accounted for two of the top three Big 4 entertainment shows in adults and women 18-49 and adults, men and women 25-54.

In adults 18-49, Monday's "Voice" ranked #2 among the week's prime entertainment programs on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox, Tuesday's "Voice" was #3 and Wednesday special "Voice" ranked #5. Joining "The Voice" in the week's top 25 were "Chicago Fire" (tied for #10), "Law & Order: SVU" (tied for #16), "A.D. THE BIBLE Continues" (tied for #19) and "Chicago P.D." (tied for #23).

For the week, NBC averaged a 1.5 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49 and 6.3 million viewers overall, according to "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

For the 2014-15 season to date, NBC ranks #1 or tied for #1 among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 as well as men and women 18-49 and adults, men and women 18-34.

In total viewers, NBC is #2 for the season, and running within 8% of its year-ago Olympics-boosted average (9.0 million vs. 9.7 million), making this season and last NBC's two top-scoring seasons in total viewers at this point since the 2006-07 season. This is the second year in a row NBC has ranked #2 in total viewers at this point in the season, marking first two times since 2003-04 that NBC has ranked as high as #2 in total viewers at this point.
