World renowned singer-songwriter LeAnn Rimes will be the first star to shine in the new SugarHouse Casino Event Center. The two-time Grammy Award winner takes the stage Sunday, March 6, at 8 p.m. Tickets for the performance go on sale Feb. 1.

As the first of many acts to entertain in the Event Center's inaugural year, Rimes' concert will showcase the space's flexibility. The 30,000-square-foot multipurpose facility will be configured as a 600-seat venue for the performance.

"This will be a powerhouse concert with an intimate feel, and we can't wait to show off the new Center," said Wendy Hamilton, general manager of SugarHouse Casino. "LeAnn Rimes is the perfect vocalist to introduce Philadelphia to the city's newest venue."

LeAnn Rimes became a household name nearly two decades ago, when at 14 years old she became the youngest person to win a Grammy for her album "Blue." In addition to receiving Grammys for "Best New Artist" and "Best Female Country Vocal Performance," Rimes earned two Academy of Country Music Awards for the album.

Rimes is best known for her hit singles "How Do I Live" and "Can't Fight the Moonlight." She has sold more than 37 million albums worldwide and has won 12 Billboard Music Awards.

Tickets for Rimes' show can be purchased online at www.sugarhousecasino.com starting Feb. 1, 2016, at noon. The cost is $75 per seat.

In addition to concerts, the SugarHouse Casino Event Center can be reserved for a variety of occasions, including weddings, corporate receptions, seminars, trade shows and more. The space features floor-to-ceiling windows and panoramic views of the Delaware riverfront and the Ben Franklin Bridge. Parking is always free.

The Event Center is part of SugarHouse's 2016 expansion rollout, with an expanded gaming floor and seven new food and beverage outlets, including Hugo's Frog Bar & Chop House by Gibsons Restaurant Group, the casino's high-end steakhouse.
