Since their formation fifteen years ago whilst in high school in Nashville, Tennessee, JEFF The Brotherhood have been redefining the US underground. Consistently dishing out gem after gem of psychedelic rock and fuzzed-up, power-pop brilliance, these super-productive, auditory exploratory artists have been recording and releasing records with an overwhelming momentum, and today announce their eleventh studio album, Zone, due for release on September 30th via Dine Alone Records.

Zone follows hot on the heels of two 2015 album releases; Wasted On The Dream, which featured members of Best Cost, The Raconteurs and Jethro Tull (whose Ian Anderson guested on flute), and Global Chakra Rhythms, a wildly psychedelic affair fashioned from hours of improvisations and experiments. However Zone transcends its chronological restrictions, and arrives as the third instalment in a "spiritual trilogy" of albums that began with Heavy Days (2009) and We Are The Champions (2011).

Recorded and co-produced by Collin Dupuis (The Black Keys, Lana Del Ray, Dr. John, Tomahawk etc.) over two weeks in a converted warehouse called Club Roar, Zone can be stratospheric one moment, and offer downbeat, heartfelt, hedonistic and hazy nuggets the next. Tracks like 'Roachin' (featuring Alicia Bognanno of Bully) and 'Bad' toe the line between wig-flipping heaviness and magnificently melodic pop. While lyrically, songs like 'Punishment' lead you on a fantastical imagined journey to caves beneath the ocean "where the inhabitants will take your limbs and face and use them as their own to walk amongst us on land". Or intergalactic travel: "Sometimes when everyday life is just intolerable, you have to go check out the moon, and drink some space juice and hang out with your space friends," says drummer Jake Orrall of 'Juice'. JEFF The Brotherhood, comprised of brothers Jake and Jamin Orrall, formed as an art project in a basement in Nashville in 2002. Raised on a heady concoction of motorik rhythms (think Amon Duul II, Popol Vuh, Guru Guru), jazz, black metal, Kate Bush and the films of Werner Herzog, and long days spent exploring the rivers and woodlands of Tennessee, Jake and Jamin come from righteous musical stock. Their heritage is one of creativity, productivity, and hard work.

The fact that Zone is their eleventh - eleventh! - LP attests to their productivity, and inability to succumb to the red-eyed, bloodshot inertia-plagued procrastination that many often do. In fifteen years they've unleashed a plethora of material, including ten studio albums, a live LP, and a number of split singles with artists including Best Coast, Ty Segall, Screaming Females and The Greenhornes. Their recordings have been released by an array of labels big and small (and medium), including Third Man, Too Pure, Stolen Recordings, Warner Brothers, Suicide Squeeze and their own Infinity Cat. They have also played in various side projects (notably Jamin Orrall in Be Your Own Pet, who released two acclaimed albums and a clutch of charting singles on XL), and have toured the world, visiting such far-flung spots as Hawaii, New Zealand and Russia. Along the way the brothers have also created countless art objects including zines, puppets and their own videos.

The brothers Orrall are making music that celebrates simple pleasures during complicated times. When not making art, Jake and Jamin spend most of their time backpacking, gardening, farming, DJing, rock-climbing and riding bicycles in Nashville, Tennessee. JEFF The Brotherhood have gone beyond being a band or a basement art project, but instead are a lifestyle, a philosophy....heck, they're a passport to another dimension.
