The Santa Barbara Center for the Performing Arts (SBCPA) is pleased to continue the 2016 - 2017 Granada Theatre Concert Series this spring with a spectacular lineup of performances featuring renown popular singers, songwriters, and live entertainers. From the nostalgic songs of David Cassidy, to an evening of laughter and comedy with Kathy Griffin plus many more, The Granada Theatre is proud to host a performance series that reaches a variety of performing arts enthusiasts in the Santa Barbara community.

The Spring 2017 Granada Theatre Concert Series Schedule:

An Evening with David Cassidy: The Farewell Tour - Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 7:00pm

Possessing a unique ability to reinvent himself, and adapt to numerous genres, David Cassidy is a true artist with a devoted fan following in almost every genre. Thanks to his role in "The Partridge Family," David Cassidy became the biggest TV and performing phenomenon in history by the time he was 20 and has managed to stay at the top of his game for over four decades. From television to recording and record-breaking concert tours, from Broadway and London's West End to Las Vegas production shows, David has made his mark and been lauded with nominations and awards in each arena.

Liner Notes: Songwriters, Stories and Music with Rita Wilson and Friends Billy Steinberg, Richard Marx and MoZella - Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 8:00pm

Rita Wilson, the talented actress, film producer, and Broadway star, brings her vocal and songwriting talents to the stage withLiner Notes: Songwriters, Stories and Music. Since the release of her debut solo album, AM/FM, Wilson has been focusing on a new component of her musical career - songwriting. In March 2016, she released her self-titled second album, showcasing her skill for creating insightful, eloquent singer-songwriter pop music that is etched with stunning honesty. Special guests Billy Steinberg, Richard Marx and MoZella will join Wilson for an intimate evening with talented songwriters performing and sharing the stories behind their music.

An Evening with Kathy Griffin - Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 8:00pm

Two-time Emmy and Grammy award-winning comedian Kathy Griffin is a towering figure on television, on tour and in publishing. She breaks through the entertainment clutter with her universally recognized brand of pull-no-punches comedy. A #1 New York Times bestselling author, Kathy recently released her much-anticipated second book, "Kathy Griffin's Celebrity Run-Ins: My A-Z Index," in November 2016. From penning New York Times best-selling books to filling the country's biggest concert halls on her comedy tours, Griffin has cemented herself as one of the most powerful figures in comedy. Unfiltered, unafraid, and utterly hilarious - she is a must-see for any stand-up fan.

Rodriguez: A Solo Acoustic Evening - Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 8:00pm

Rodriguez, the legendary singer-songwriter known only by his surname, began performing in clubs around the city of Detroit in the 1960s. He recorded two studio albums, Cold Fact in 1969 and Coming from Reality in 1971. These compositions went unnoticed in the U.S., but reached folk-rock super stardom status in South Africa, where mistaken rumors circulated that he had perished. In the late 1990s, South African fans finally sought him out, leading to the unanticipated renaissance of his music career. Their story is told in the 2012 Oscar award-winning documentary, Searching For Sugar Man, which has given Rodríguez a new measure of fame in the U.S. and his music is now reaching audiences world-wide.
