Production on the highly anticipated GHOSTBUSTERS reboot is wrapping up this month. The film features an all-female cast of Hollywood's funniest ladies, including the Ghost-busting squad of Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon.

In addition, Chris Hemsworth will take on the role of office secretary, played by Annie Potts in the original film. It was also confirmed that original Ghostbuster Bill Murray (Dr. Peter Venkman) will make an appearance in the film, but up until now, details on his character remained unclear.

According to Showbiz 411, Murray will take on an all new character. The site describes him as "an actual debunker of Ghostbusters. His new character is not a believer in the power of ghostbusting and needs some convincing. The question is, Will he meet his doom by not backing the ladies in their endeavor?"

Fans will have to wait until 2016, when the Paul Feig-directed comedy hits theaters.

Murray appeared on NBC's Saturday Night Live for which he earned an Emmy Award and later went on to star in comedy films, including Meatballs(1979), Caddyshack (1980), Stripes (1981), Tootsie (1982), Ghostbusters (1984), Scrooged (1988), What About Bob? (1991), and Groundhog Day (1993). Murray garnered additional critical acclaim later in his career, starring in Lost in Translation(2003), which earned him a Golden Globe and a BAFTA Award for Best Actor, as well as an Academy Award nomination forBest Actor. He also received Golden Globe nominations for his roles in Ghostbusters, Rushmore (1998), Hyde Park on Hudson (2012) and St. Vincent (2014).
