Side Splitters Comedy Club (12938 North Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, FL 33618) has announced its upcoming headliners for the month of October. Details below!

Appearing this weekend: CARL LABOVE, October 2 - 5, 2014

Carl is one of the original Outlaws of Comedy with Sam Kinison. His energetic fast-paced comedy has been seen on Comedy Central, the Tonight Show, Seinfeld, and Roseanne. He has graced the big screen in Pauly Shore is Dead, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, and Night Patrol as the "Porno Prisoner". Don't miss one of comedy's wittiest story tellers!

He is one of our most top-requested comedians and never fails to produce a great live comedy show!
In the sixth grade he told his mother that he wanted to be a stand up comic. His first performance was at an open mike night in Houston at the age of nineteen. That was the night he would meet another young aspiring comedian who was also performing for the first time Sam Kinison. Little did they know that their lives would be forever entwined together in the world of stand up comedy.

Carl and Sam ate, drank and slept comedy for the next seven years, moving from Houston to Los Angeles together and working at the world famous "Comedy Store" as doorman. Sam's big break came on Rodney Dangerfield's HBO Special. Sam Kinison soon became a comedy sensation and he and Carl joined forces. Carl became the special guest on all tours and collaborated on three albums and several specials. They formed the Outlaws of Comedy a brand of comedic outlaws both on and off the stage. The two lived every comics dream performing at rock clubs amphitheaters and sold out arenas for the next eight years.

The friendship and collaboration tragically ended in April 1992 when Sam and Carl were in route to a gig in Laughlin Nevada. Sam was injured in a car accent and shortly died, as he had lived, with his best friend Carl LaBove at his side.

After taking a year off to regroup, Carl's solo career came roaring back, with four appearances on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, The Dennis Miller Show. He was cast as a regular on Rosanne's late night comedy show, Saturday Night Special and guest stared on Seinfeld, Roseanne and The Parenthood. He was in the movies Ace Ventura, Jumping Jack Flash and Pauly Shore is Dead to name just a few. He performs regularly at the top comedy venues through out the world including Catch A Rising Star in Las Vegas and Reno. He participated in the feature film "Sam Kinison: Why did we Laugh" and has released two cd's called "I Used To Be An Outlaw: What Happened?" and DVD "Carl LaBove A night at the Frolic". We hope you enjoy this comedy video of Carl LaBove. If you ever get the chance to see him live run don't walk to see this comic legend perform the craft that he has taken to it's highest plain.

Appearing next weekend: April Macie October 9 - 12

Do you remember the girl in your high school who had a horrible rumor spread about her? It might have involved a football team, or a dog and some peanut butter or maybe processed meat. Well, that girl in Easton, Pennsylvania was April Macie. So, where did she turn for comfort? While some might turn to the Lord, April turned to promiscuity.

Promiscuity and then comedy. With her irreverent brand of overtly sexual humor she attempts to break down troubling double-standards and lend her voice to women everywhere. April would like to add that she doesn't really know what irreverent means, but she's heard a lot of other comics use it and thought it sounded kinda' cool.

April Macie travels the world collecting stories and experiences, which she then translates into humorous, relatable tales in front of audiences worldwide. April has been to over 23 countries, 9 of those performing stand-up comedy (not fellatio) for the troops, was a finalist on NBC's Last Comic Standing in 2006, has appeared on E! Entertainment, Sirius and XM Radio, Access Hollywood, Talk Soup, HLN and was labeled an "emerging talent to watch" by the Hollywood Reporter at the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in 2005. April is a regular guest on the Howard Stern show, where in 2008 she was voted the "Funniest and Hottest" comedian in America. She is also a regular guest on the Bob and Tom radio show and has toured with the Bob & Tom All-Stars. April has appeared on Showtime in the documentary, "I Am Comic", "Vegas Is My Oyster", "Snoop Dogg's: Bad Girls of Comedy", and most recently was the host of the AVN Awards which will air on Showtime. Currently, April spends most of her time traveling the United States as a headlining stand-up comedian.

April has slapped a boyfriend on the toilet for renting out their home for porn shoots, stood on the North Korean border, entertained troops next to the detainee camp in Guantanamo Bay, imported a young Englishman for the summer, only to see him turned away at the border months later for overstaying his visa. She has had numerous crappy jobs-including: a nanny, Hooter's waitress, clowns assistant, telemarketer -- fired from all of them, occasionally smokes weed out of an apple and goes to Chucky Cheese with her friends, thinks double standards are ridiculous and hopes to change the world by empowering women, "One dick joke at a time."
