This year The New York Comedy Festival (NYCF), presented in association with COMEDY CENTRAL, marks its 10th anniversary today, November 6 through Sunday, November 10. The festival will once again bring laughs to all the boroughs in New York City, and adding several new venues. The 2013 festival line-up will be announced in August, at which time tickets will also go on sale. Additional shows will be added in the fall.

Among the shows returning to the 2013 NYCF are "Comics To Watch," which showcases the hottest new comedic talent from across the country. The show was created to help launch the careers of the next generation of comedians by displaying their talents to industry executives and comedy fans, alike. "Comics to Watch" will take place at the famed Carolines on Broadway during the festival. Also returning is New York's Funniest Stand-Up competition, which remains the Big Apple's largest stand-up contest. The winner receives a coveted spot to perform on one of the major Festival shows, as well as a chance to open for a headliner at Carolines on Broadway, and a cash prize. To be considered, comedians can submit a performance clip to nyfunniest@carolines.com bySeptember 30.

"Stand-Up For Heroes," an event that is presented by the NYCF and The Bob Woodruff Foundation, will again take place during the festival this year. Due to the rapid success over the past six years, the event will be moving from the Beacon Theatre to The Theater at Madison Square Garden. Last year's event included performances by Ricky Gervais, John Mayer, Bruce Springsteen, Jon Stewart, Roger Waters, and Robin Williams, among others. It is an evening of laughter, healing and music to benefit injured service members, veterans and their families.

"Ten years of the festival in New York City is quite an accomplishment," said Caroline Hirsch, owner of Carolines on Broadway, which also marks its 30th year in business, and the New York Comedy Festival. "I could not be more proud of the festival's success and its continued growth within the comedy industry."

The 2013 New York Comedy Festival's slate will be announced in August, along with ticketing information and dates. For additional information on the New York Comedy Festival please visit: www.nycomedyfestival.com.
