On Saturday, Aug. 22 from 10:00 a.m. to noon, Lawrence Golan, music director and conductor of the York Symphony Orchestra, will offer a special performance at Central Market in York. Golan will be playing violin for four 15-minute sets of "Autumn" from Vivaldi's The Four Seasons. The performance will showcase the piece Golan will be performing with the Orchestra during the first concert of the 2015-2016 season, In Nature's Realm.

This special performance will be held in the dining area of Central Market and there will be several opportunities for the audience to engage and speak with Golan. Additionally, members of the York Symphony Orchestra, the York Junior Symphony Orchestra and the York Youth Symphony will be in the community booth offering market-goers the opportunity to learn more about these local organizations.

"I am looking forward to the opportunity to share a sneak peek of the 2015-2016 In Nature's Realm season at Central Market on August 22," said Golan. "The energy and momentum we've seen from the community as we move into the 2015-2016 season has been amazing and we are excited to team up with Central Market for this special presentation."

Golan returns on the heels of a noteworthy inaugural season to lead the Orchestra in presenting a symphonic force of nature. The 2015-2016 season, In Nature's Realm, will feature a series of ten performances that will include: a classical series, inspired by nature's beauty and power; two Pops performances, featuring music audiences will know and love; two family-focused presentations; and a fully-staged opera complete with professional sets, costumes and a group of dynamic performers.
