Who will win the 2015 Louis Vyner Award in Performance? Witness all the performances of Millersville University music major finalists at a special concert on Sunday, Feb. 8, at the Ware Center of Millersville University in Lancaster, where students will perform as part of the competition for the annual scholarship award. The concert will begin at 2:30 p.m. The winner of the award will also become next year's soloist in performance with a music ensemble at the University. Meanwhile, Sunday's concert will be an opportunity for music lovers to enjoy a great afternoon of classical music, performed by the most accomplished young musicians coming out of Millersville University who are sure to make their musical mark in the years ahead. The Ware Center is located at 42 N. Prince Street, Lancaster.

The Louis Vyner Award, named in honor of the late founder and first conductor of the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra in Performance, was established in 1980 to provide scholarships for outstanding music majors at Millersville University. The award recognizes student excellence in musical performance, including conducting. It is awarded annually to a single, full-time music major at MU, selected by an audition committee comprised of Music Department faculty on the basis of outstanding performance in the field of music and demonstrated academic excellence. The winner of last year's competition was Millersville University senior and pianist Sharon Ho (pictured).

Concert tickets are $10 and may be purchased online at www.ArtsMU.com or by calling the Millersville University Ticket Office, at 717-871-7600, or the Ware Center, 717-871-7018. Tickets may also be purchased at the Ticket Office, located in the Student Memorial Center on campus, or at the Ware Center, located at 42 N. Prince St., Lancaster. Doors at the Ware Center will also open one hour before the performance for ticket sales (subject to availability).
