Parthenia, New York's premiere viol consort, will present Harp & Viols - Early Works, Plus a World Premiere by Eleonor Sandresky on Sunday, March 22 - 4:00 PM at Picture Ray Studio, 245 West 18th Street in Manhattan. This is the second event of The Art of Persuasion, their 2014-15 concert series. Composer/performance artist Eleonor Sandresky will bring Parthenia into new territory with her commissioned premiere using choreographed movement for the consort, presented alongside dance suites and fantasias from the Renaissance.

Repertoire will include the World Premiere of John Donne Songs Without Words, a choreographic work for Viol Quartet and Baroque Harp by Ms. Sandresky. The piece was commissioned by Parthenia through a grant from New York State Council on the Arts.

Other composers on the program are Henry Purcell, Orlando Gibbons, Carlo Farina, Giovanni Battista Vitali, Nicolo Corradini and Giovanni Legrenzi. Special guest will be Christa Patton, harp.
