Millersville University welcomes internationally acclaimed marimbist SHE-E WU on October 29, 7:30 PM, at the Winter Center, Millersville. Along with performing solo marimba repertoire, Ms. Wu will be joined by the Millersville University Percussion Ensemble in the evenings display of exquisite virtuosity. The Winter Center is located at 60 W. Cottage Avenue, Millersville.

As a child in Taiwan, She-e Wu demonstrated musical talent at three and a half years of age when she began piano lessons at a Kung Hsue She (KHS) Music School. Today she is the Associate Professor of Percussion at Northwestern University's Bienen School of Music. She is a clinician and recitalist for the Majestic & Mapex, Innovative Percussion, and Evans and Zildgian percussion companies, and has performed as guest recitalist and clinician at universities, colleges, and conservatories in France, Belgium, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, England, Scotland, Germany, Spain, Greece, Japan, and Korea, as well as American music institutions and numerous PAS Days of Percussion throughout the United States. Ms. Wu has also appeared as a solo artist at the 25th, 27th, and 30th Percussive Arts Society International Convention. She has served as a judge for several international and national competitions for percussion and marimba.

In addition to teaching, touring, and performing, Ms. Wu has composed works for marimba and percussion, commissioned new works for marimba, released recordings, participated at numerous summer workshops and seminars, designed mallets and instruments, and also served as a judge for Paris International Marimba Competition, PAS International College Percussion Ensemble Competition, Atlanta Snare Drum Competition, PAS Large Percussion Ensemble Composition Contest, and PAS Marimba Competition. According to Chris Hankes, project manager at Majestic & Mapex percussion, "She-e Wu has had a major impact on many areas of the percussion community and she has only just begun."
