Hans Zimmer to be Honored at Idyllwild Arts' Annual Gala in LA on 4/14

Idyllwild Arts Foundation, will honor Academy Award-winning composer, Hans Zimmer, and longtime Idyllwild Arts board member and benefactor, Earl W. Fisher, at its 9th annual Scholarship Gala on Sunday, April 14 to be held at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel. These two deserving arts advocates will receive the LIFE IN ART Award for their dedication to the arts and arts education.
Hans Zimmer is considered among the most prolific film composers in Hollywood having won numerous awards including Tonys, Grammys, and Golden Globes. Zimmer also won an Academy Award for Best Original Score for The Lion King. Among the numerous films Zimmer has scored are Rain Man, Driving Miss Daisy, The Last Samurai, Gladiator, and many other memorable films.
Earl Fisher has led a varied life, accomplished as many roles including scholar in international relations, European opera singer, investment counsel, fund raiser, political activist, and patron of arts education. Having fallen in love with Idyllwild, a small arts community in the San Jacinto Mountains two hours from Los Angeles, in 1986, Fisher became an integral part of the creation of Idyllwild Arts Academy as we know it now and served as president of the Board of Governors for IAF for many years.
The annual gala is Idyllwild Arts' major fundraising event, which enables the school to provide scholarships for students from around the world who attend Idyllwild Arts Academy and Summer Program to pursue their passion in the arts.

Idyllwild Arts is a prestigious arts institution that was founded in 1950 with its renowned Summer Program. It is the only intensely focused boarding arts high school on the West Coast.
Idyllwild Arts is set on 205-forested acres in the Mt. San Jacinto mountain village of Idyllwild, adjacent to major Southern California regions.
Idyllwild Arts offers both academic and arts education in all of the performing and visual arts.
The Idyllwild Summer Program features a diverse range of arts courses for all ages which feature hands-on workshops in music, dance, visual arts, writing, filmmaking and Native Arts.
