DENVER (August 18, 2015) - Sloth, envy, greed, gluttony, lust, wrath and pride. This October, the seven deadly sins are the impetus for the latest creation by Wonderbound Artistic Director Garrett Ammon. Continuing a tradition of groundbreaking collaborative productions, Ammon has been working closely with Musician/Composer Tom Hagerman (best known for his work with Denver band DeVotchKa) to create an evocatively dark experience that will take audiences on a seductive and wickedly humorous journey.

"I've seen two Wonderbound performances thus far and both times I have been blown away by the level of artistic achievement created on stage at all levels of the production." said Tom Hagerman, Musician/Composer, "They have the feeling of being uniquely anachronistic, as though you are watching something from a century or two ago only to realize how strikingly contemporary it really is. I'm excited to have the opportunity to work with the strings of the Colorado Symphony to provide the sonic landscape in an attempt to capture the feeling of Wonderbound, as best I can, musically."

The Seven Deadly Sins is Wonderbound's fifth collaboration with the remarkable musicians of the Colorado Symphony and the most daring endeavor yet. Hagerman has composed a multitude of orchestral arrangements for the Symphony's celebrated pop shows featuring groups such as DeVotchKa, The Lumineers, Gregory Alan Isakov, The Flobots and Amos Lee.

"After working with the Colorado Symphony regularly for the past three seasons, I'm thrilled to be taking the step of having a world premiere music score for our collaboration on The Seven Deadly Sins." said Garrett Ammon, Wonderbound Artistic Director, "Tom Hagerman is the perfect fit for this project, bringing both his captivating compositional voice and his intimate knowledge of the Colorado Symphony's capacities fully to the table in the creation process. The provocative subject matter has inspired us to no end, and I am excited to see what we ultimately create together."

For The Seven Deadly Sins, Hagerman has created an original score that will be played live by a hand-picked ensemble of the Colorado Symphony's musicians.

"We are filled with great anticipation and excitement to experience the upcoming production of Garrett Ammon's The Seven Deadly Sins. Having had the privilege of working with both Wonderbound and Tom Hagerman in the past, the Colorado Symphony are pleased to be a part of this groundbreaking new production." said Claud Sim, Associate Concertmaster for the Colorado Symphony, "From his masterful orchestral arrangements to his astonishing multi-instrumental talents in the iconic band Devotchka, the undeniably unique and evocative music of Tom Hagerman has delighted so many of us in Colorado and beyond. As musicians, there are few artistic joys that can compare to seeing our playing brought to life through dance. This collaboration will be unforgettable."

Each production at the Performing Arts Complex at Pinnacle Charter School will also feature an exclusive exhibition of local artist's work curated by Leon Gallery. For this production, Denver artist Caleb Hahne will be showcasing his work, including new pieces created exclusively for The Seven Deadly Sins.

The Seven Deadly Sins opens October 9 and will run for five (5) performances throughout Denver. More information on the production can be found at wonderbound.com.

Each season performance will be preceded by a limited seating Teaser at the Wonderbound Studio at Junction Box, allowing audiences a taste of what the full length performance will hold. The Teaser Episode for The Seven Deadly Sins will be September 25 and will feature libations and appetizers along with a Q&A with Tom Hagerman, Garrett Ammon and the Wonderbound Hares.

As always, the public is encouraged to experience the performers, not only at the official shows throughout the season, but in their rehearsal space in the heart of Denver. Visitors are asked to call to confirm rehearsal schedules.
