The Cleveland Orchestra has announced a special sales discount for area students on Frequent Fan Cards for the 2014-15 season. With the purchase of a Frequent Fan Card, full-time students can attend as many Cleveland Orchestra Classical concerts as they choose, for free. To welcome students to the new school year, the Orchestra is offering Frequent Fan Cards (regularly $50 per card) for a special discounted rate of $35, if purchased between August 25 and 30. The special price represents a 30% discount off the regular price.

Beginning on Monday, August 25, student Frequent Fan Cards are available for purchase online at clevelandorchestra.com or by calling Cleveland Orchestra Ticket Services at 216-231-1111.

Prior to purchasing a Frequent Fan Card, each student must first enroll for free membership in The Cleveland Orchestra's Student Advantage Program. Joining the program (and purchasing the optional upgrade to a Frequent Fan Card) can be done at the same time, either online at clevelandorchestra.com or in person at the Severance Hall Ticket Office. Student Advantage Program members can purchase discounted student tickets on selected weeks (for $10 or $15), and also receive invitations and other benefits. The purchase of a Frequent Fan Card allows cardholders to attend as many concerts as they wish for free.

Once the Orchestra's 2014-15 season begins, student concert tickets are obtained in person at the Ticket Office, beginning the Monday prior to each concert weekend. Membership in the Student Advantage Program is free and is open to full-time high school (grades 9-12), and full-time college undergraduate, graduate/post-graduate students (a valid student ID is required, and can be submitted in person or as part of the online enrollment).

In addition to ticket offerings, Student Advantage members receive exclusive invitations to masterclasses and behind-the-scenes open rehearsals. Students also receive regular emails announcing the availability of student tickets, plus concert details, and invitations to free events. Student Advantage members who have not purchased a Frequent Fan Card can attend select Cleveland Orchestra concerts for just $10 per ticket. Student tickets are made available beginning the Monday prior to the concert and are available until an hour before the performance starts (tickets purchased within one hour prior to concert start time are $15). Members receive a card in the mail that is to be presented at the Severance Hall Ticket Office along with a valid student ID at the time of each ticket purchase. Tickets for Frequent Fan Card holders are also available beginning the Monday prior to the concert.

Last season, a record 6,000 Northeast Ohio students enrolled as members of The Cleveland Orchestra's Student Advantage Program, and over 16,000 tickets for Severance Hall Classical concerts were issued to these members through student ticketing and Frequent Fan Cards. Combined with other programs, these subsidized tickets helped boost the attendance of young people (ages 25 and younger) to 20% of the audience attending the Orchestra's Classical concerts.

The Student Advantage Program and the Frequent Fan Card for students are supported by The Cleveland Orchestra's Center for Future Audiences. Student ticket programs are supported through the Center's Alexander and Sarah Cutler Fund for Student Audiences. The Center for Future Audiences was created in 2010 with a lead endowment gift from the Maltz Family Foundation to fund programs to develop new generations of audiences for Cleveland Orchestra concerts in Northeast Ohio.
