Central Ohio's 2015 Flute Festival to Welcome Celebrated Flutist Jim Walker, 4/18

The Central Ohio Flute Association welcomes guest artist, celebrated flutist Jim Walker to the 32nd Annual Flute Festival, which takes places Saturday, April 18, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Weigel Hall Auditorium 1866 College Rd. The festival features a solo recital and master classes by Jim Walker, exhibits, competition finals and a flute choir concert.

Walker will present a solo recital at 1 p.m. during the festival. Additional presentations include: Irish Flute Playing Techniques; Preparing for an Orchestral Audition; Grab your Assets, Flutists; and Make Things Happen; as well as Alexander Technique, national exhibitors, a flute choir showcase and competitions.

Tickets available at the door (cash or check only). No advance sales. $20 adults; $10 students; $5 senior citizens and parents accompanying a student; Free to Ohio State students, faculty and staff.

Walker, former principal flutist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, can be heard on numerous soundtracks including Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, E.T., Saving Private Ryan, Toy Story and others. He continues to perform with his jazz quartet Free Flight while also serving on the faculties of the Colburn School and University of Southern California. He is a performing artist for Burkart & Resona Flutes and Piccolos.
