Canta Libre Chamber Ensemble to Perform at Lyndhurst Mansion in Tarrytown

The acclaimed Canta Libre Chamber Ensemble will be in concert, performing music for flute, harp and strings on Sunday, June 14 - 4:00 PM at Lyndhurst Mansion, 635 South Broadway, Tarrytown, N.Y.

Repertoire for this event will be Astor Piazzolla's Oblivion, arr. for Canta Libre, Jean Cras's Quintet for Harp, Flute and Strings, Marcel Grandjany's Aria in Classic Style, Villa Lobos' Bachianas Brasillieras No. 5, arr. for Canta Libre and Ginastera's Impresiones de la Puna.

Performers will be Sally Shorrock, flute, Bradley Bosenbeck, violin, Veronica Salas, viola, Bernard Tamosaitis, cello and Karen Lindquist, harp.

Canta Libre was founded in 2002 by flutist Sally Shorrock to foster the performance and enjoyment of musical literature specifically written for flute, harp and strings. They have been acclaimed by audiences throughout the Northeast and were featured at The American Harp Society 50th Anniversary National Conference. They have appeared at Lincoln Center, on WNYC radio at The Green Space, at The Music Festival of the Hamptons, Bargemusic, Concerts at One at Trinity Church in Manhattan, WLIW TV, National Public Radio of Long Island, and The Brooklyn Public Library and perform regularly in New York City, Connecticut, Westchester and Long Island. Trained at the finest conservatories, many of the members have performed and toured internationally with appearances at major festivals, including Aspen, Spoleto and Tanglewood.
