A producing team with Broadway ties will produce "ACE," a short film that will begin principle photography in Los Angeles on Monday.

Ashley Kate Adams (La Cage Aux Folles) of AKA Studio Productions ("Rules of Cool", Photo Op) and Jim Kierstead of Kierstead Productions (Broadway's Kinky Boots and Waitress) are returning to where they produced their first play together this past February, Diana Amsterdam's New American Play: The Dodgers, to produce their first film together.

The film, that will be shot in black and white, was written and will be directed by Jordan Gear and will have cinematography by Karina Silva (Deep Water Horizon, Mr. Holmes). The film will also feature an original score by Juan Cortes, with music supervision by Alvaro Cadavid.

Lukas Gage will star as the outsider ACE (Sickhouse) opposite the multi faceted Michael Felix ("PUNK'D") as Z. Film veteran Jonathan Lipnicki (Jerry Maguire) will also lead the cast as the lovable instigator Russ. Rounding out the cast is Ariel D. King ("The People vs. OJ Simpson"), Giselle Bonilla ("Supah Ninjas"), Ty Chen ("Lucifer") and newcomer Holly Blair.

ACE, inspired by true events, is set within the embrace of a tight knit group of friends in California. When an outsider Ace shows up unannounced on campus, he experiences an unexpected connection with the beloved Z. This connection catapults these two men into the high and lows that come with human connection and expressing love at a young age.

The casting director for the film is Krisha Bullock of Bullock & Snow Casting (iCarly) and the film will also feature an original score by Juan Cortes with music supervision by Alvaro Cadavid. The film will be edited by Preston Sadlier (Broadway's National Tour of Next to Normal) and AD'ed by Janine Lee Papio (Photo Op).
