Backstage at the Lincoln, the Lincoln Theatre's intimate, local concert series, has scheduled two additional concerts for the summer season. This series offers concertgoers the extraordinary opportunity to be seated on stage with a featured local artist, providing an up-close-and-personal performance set against the hand-painted grandeur of the Lincoln's rare Egyptian Revival-style motif.

Spit 'n' Sketch Live

Thursday, June 4

Spit 'n' Sketch Live creates opportunities for aspiring underground artists and entertainers through a variety show platform, carving out a niche to celebrate love, life, and light through creative expression. This performance will feature house band Poetic Dialect with special guest vocalists Kenneth Eaddy, Chrissy T, and Miesha Cannaday, as well as poet Yarima Karama and bellydancer Janaan Al Jahanni.

Cedric Easton & Circle of Friends

featuring Christopher Gatton & Schuuyler Johnson

Thursday, June 18

Jazz drummer Cedric Easton tours with national recording artist Christian Howes while serving as the Fine Arts Director of New Covenant Believer's Church and as a faculty member of the Jazz Academy. His jazz band, Circle of Friends, is a "grass roots" musical experience packed with a wide variety of American music influences. Their first single entitled "Inspire Me" was selected as the theme song for the Peggy McConnell Art Center educational and outreach programs.

Tickets are $10 and seating is limited. All concerts begin at 7pm at the Lincoln Theatre (769 E. Long St.). Tickets can be purchased at the CAPA Ticket Center (39 E. State St.), all Ticketmaster outlets, and www.ticketmaster.com. To purchase tickets by phone, please call (614) 469-0939 or (800) 745-3000. Tickets can also be purchased at the door on the night of the show if still available.

The Backstage at the Lincoln series is made possible through the generous support of the Greater Columbus Arts Council and Ohio Arts Council.
