Annapolis Symphony Orchestra Names Jeth Mill as Executive Director

The Board of Trustees of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra (ASO) is pleased to announce that Jeth Mill has been named Executive Director. Mr. Mill will provide leadership and vision to achieve the orchestra's continued goals of artistic excellence, community engagement, and education outreach.

Board Chairman Harley Flack says, "The ASO is excited to welcome Jeth to Annapolis. He brings a passion for music and experience leading orchestral organizations that will take our symphony to the next level."

Prior to joining the ASO, Mill held the position of Executive Director for the Windsor Symphony Orchestra (WSO) in Ontario, Canada for five years and most recently managed a major arts center renovation for the orchestra. He led the WSO back to financial stability following the 2008 recession and worked with the City of Windsor to secure and renovate an historic theater to become the symphony's new home.

"I am extremely happy to be returning to the United States and especially to Annapolis." Mill says, "It is an honor to join such a successful orchestra and to work with its accomplished Music Director José-Luis Novo. I am intrigued by the outreach programs of the ASO and look forward to bringing even more great music to the community."

He began his career producing classical music programs for NPR in Washington, DC. Over the past 25 years, Mill has held leadership positions with six performing arts organizations including serving as Executive Director with the New Hampshire Symphony, the Des Moines Symphony, the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra, and the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic. Mill holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Ohio University.

The Annapolis Symphony Orchestra features 70 professional musicians who perform a variety of symphonic music for audiences of all ages. Additionally, the non-profit organization provides educational programs through its partnerships with local schools, as well as various other community outreach efforts. The ASO's vision is to be a leading artistic treasure in Maryland and a national model for regional orchestras.
