Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra presents October community concert, trumpet concerto & artist residency, including artist-in-residence Alisa Weilerstein to participate in week of community engagement activities, CSO Associate Conductor Robert Treviño to conduct community concert in Middletown and Robert Sullivan to play rarely-performed Trumpet Concerto.

The series includes:

OCT 3 (7:30 p.m.)

Community Concert: Middletown High School, with Robert Treviño, conductor. Songs that will be performed include MOZART Serenade in G Major (Performed by Middletown High School Orchestra), PROKOFIEV Symphony No. 1, ELGAR Enigma Variations, and GRAINGER The Warriors (Music for an Imaginary Ballet).

OCT 4-5 (8 p.m.)

Sound the Trumpet: Robert Sullivan, trumpet, Rafael Payare, conductor. Music to be performed: RIMSKY-KORSAKOV RussIan Easter Overture, JOHN ESTACIO Borealis, William Perry Trumpet Concerto, and SIBELIUS Symphony No. 2.

OCT 11-12 (8 p.m.)

Weilerstein and the Knight of the Rose: Alisa Weilerstein, cello, Asher Fisch, conductor. WAGNER Prelude to Act I of Parsifal, HAYDN Cello Concerto No. 1, R. STRAUSS Suite from Die Frau ohne Schatten, R. STRAUSS Suite from Der Rosenkavalier.
