Troy McKenzie, as an activist, tackles issues of gender discrimination and women's rights in his timely new book, "Women's Worth, Priceless" (published by Trafford Publishing).

"'Women's Worth, Priceless' aims for the further protection and promotion of the human rights of women and girls around the world. Eliminating gender discrimination and empowering women are among the imperatives facing the world today," McKenzie says.

"Although much has changed in the decades of women's rights advocacy, the rights and entitlements claimed for women and girls are commonly ignored or suppressed in many societies worldwide."

"Women today, as in the past, desire to be elevated to the true state of equality at all levels of society," McKenzie continues. "But there are many spurious claims that militate against gender equality. This is because of traditional and individual mal-beliefs which conflict with human rights legislations, denying women and rights that they are inherently and legally entitled. Consequently, hundreds of millions of women and girls are deprived of their human rights."

"But what can we the concerned people do to stop these abuses?" the author asks. "I believe the answer is to support global advocacy and action to secure women's and girls' rights. It would help if we could all make an effort to create a world fit for women and children to grow up safe, live happy and healthy."
