Some of Los Angeles' most talented writers will gather tonight, June 12, for the 21st annual UCLA Extension Writers' Program "Publication Party."

Writers' Program instructors will read aloud from their recently published fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry at the Skirball Cultural Center. Doors open at 7 p.m. and readings commence at 7:30 p.m. The event is free but RSVP is required.

The 18 writers to present their works are: Francesca Lia Block, Laurel Ann Bogen, Cecilia Manguerra Brainard, Michael Buckley, Rick Bursky, Sam Dunn, Dan Jaffe, Rachel Kann, Shawna Kenney, Suzanne Lummis, Paul Mandelbaum, Marisa Matarazzo, Lou Mathews, Kate Milliken, Deborah Reed, Colette Sartor, Peter Serchuk, and Harry Youtt. Books will be for sale courtesy of Small World Books.

The Writers' Program also celebrates the publication of "Cut To The Chase" and "Inside The Room" edited by Director Linda Venis, PhD, who has guided the growth of this UCLA Extension department for two decades. The books are based on UCLA Extension Writers' Program's renowned workshops and written by its successful film and television writer-teachers.
