According to StatisticBrain.com, there are more than 41 million people in the United States who have tried online dating.

Elizabeth Highland's new book, "The Chronicles of Elizabeth Highland," is the first book in a series of humorous exposes of Highland's own experience in the online relationship world.

In Volume I, Highland introduces us to Timothy Blumefield, her friend of forty years and explores the universal quest for inner peace and the search for one's true soul mate.

Beginning with a friendship that spans four decades, 3,000 miles and 300 emails, Highland and Blumefield fall in love through cyberspace while Elizabeth chronicles their written communication as a way to explore this journey of life, love and soul.

When Blumefield confesses that he is stuck in a marriage he should have left years earlier, Highland does some soul searching of her own, hoping to answer the question "How did I get myself in this situation?" She takes us on a wild ride from Toronto, Lake Tahoe, Nepal and Bhutan winding up in a monastery in California with a Buddha.

One modern woman's entertaining and honest affair takes readers on a spiritual quest of growth and love. This relatable story shares Highland's inner most thoughts and feelings and will have readers laughing alongside her while providing inspiration for complicated relationships of their own.
