Skipton, England

Author Adrienne Fox uses a fictional story to show what happens when people become consumed by lust, greed and jealousy in her new novel, "Tit for Tat" (published by AuthorHouse).

Set primarily in northern England, "Tit for Tat" tells the story of Geoff Pollard, a middle-class geography teacher who drags his family into a series of bizarre events when he leaves his wife, Eleanor, for one of his former students.

At first, Eleanor vows to get revenge, but a holiday in France provides a welcome distraction, as does her daughter Jo's former boyfriend, Jake, who comes to live with Eleanor and her other two children after Geoff moves out. Meanwhile, Jo, a talented violinist, continues her studies at a London conservatoire.

Everyone but Jo is delighted to have Jake around. Young and strikingly handsome, he contributes not only financially, but in other ways as well. Jake's personal contributions turn out to be very personal indeed, and while the family continues to negotiate their way through a series of crises, Jakes leaves his mark on them all in his own charming fashion.

Meanwhile, Geoff's new love affair has started to lose its luster, while Eleanor seems to be thriving, although she is living dangerously beyond her means. Readers are invited to follow the lives of these engaging characters in this story filled with comedy, tragedy and insight into the human condition.
