LANCASTER, Calif.

After seeing many handicapped children and learning about how they deal with their disabilities, author Morey Johnson decided to write the 2008 children's book "The Quiet Bird" (published by Trafford Publishing). Johnson's book will be featured at the 2015 London Book Fair, taking place April 14-16.

"The Quiet Bird" tells the story of Andy, a Robin who cannot sing. But Andy has a special ability. Will that be enough to make up for his lack of voice? Find out in The Quiet Bird.

"'The Quiet Bird' is a story that relates to how many children feel about themselves today, even ones that aren't physically handicapped," Johnson says. "Hopefully the reader comes away thinking that they are special in different ways, too."

An excerpt from "The Quiet Bird":

"One day, Ophelia flew off to find food to bring back to the nest. When she returned, Andy was gone. She was scared. A sadness took hold of her. Perhaps a cat had taken him or maybe he fell. She flew to the ground below the nest, hoping to find him and praying in her heart that he would be okay. He was nowhere to be found."
