The path of true love is fraught with unexpected twists and turns in a journey full of emotional heights and lows. In "The Half Term Break," author Suzanne Parsons' new tale of romance and relationships, this path takes the protagonists to Cornwall, England, where lonely souls plagued by past tragedies will encounter a second chance at finding a happy ending.

The tale follows Emily, an unromantic woman who did not believe in love at first sight, after learning the hard way from a failed marriage. As a single mum, she had to bring up two children on her own while working full time, and now she is looking after her ailing father as his Alzheimer's disease progresses. While it seems too much to ask her selfish sister to help out for even just a week, she still needs a break, even though she does not expect to find romance during this time. On the other hand, Tania is a spoiled brat who does not have to work, she has little to do with her sister or father and thinks that she should never have to do anything menial in her life.

Emily's path crosses with that of a man named Simon, a surfer who worked on a popular TV show, and who has just gotten out of a dangerous relationship. He is not looking for love, but fate throws him a curve ball and he finds himself falling for Emily after an unexpected turn of events.

"The Half Term Break" sets its focus on a woman's journey of love and life. Readers will appreciate the love of their families as the novel also deals with parental relationships and the sacrifices of a daughter for the family she loves.
