Storytelling is a rewarding activity. By telling stories, people are able to teach important lessons, recreate imaginative settings and go on unforgettable adventures. In "A Wish Upon a Jar," Suzanne Fitzpatrick tells a story that does all three. A heady mix of unforgettable characters, a meaningful storyline and vibrant illustrations, this new storybook captures the power of dreams and the fresh and vibrant imagination of children.

The story introduces a little girl. She is fascinated by fireflies and dreams of lighting up like these amazing little creatures. She decides to catch lightning bugs in a jar so they will show her how to see in the dark. This is only the beginning of a wonderful adventure filled with whimsy and wishes and extraordinary characters such as the man in the moon. In the midst of the magic and marvels, the little girl will learn an important lesson.

Fitzpatrick shares that "A Wish Upon a Jar" was written for her niece, Maria, who passed away when she was 17 years old. The story celebrates Maria's life and her love of fireflies and it encourages children around the world to believe in the power of dreams.

Featuring beautiful artwork by illustrator Eric Gothold, "A Wish Upon a Jar" is made from the stuff of magic and dreams. It is a timeless tale that will bring joy and warm the hearts of readers of all ages. Part of the proceeds from the sales of the book will go toward the Maria Schaffstein Foundation which supports scholarships for Northern Kentucky schools.
