Staten Island GLBTQ Center to Welcome Walter Newkirk for memoraBEALEia Book Signing and Screening of GREY GARDENS, 7/19

On Saturday, July 19 at 7pm, The Staten Island GLBTQ Center is featuring very special guest Walter Newkirk, founder of Walter Newkirk Public Relations LLC and author of memoraBEALEia : A Private Scrapbook about Edie Beale of Grey Gardens, as he takes you into the world of Grey Gardens. The event is free and open to the public.

Mr. Newkirk's book is endorsed by Broadway veterans Scott Frankel, Michael Korie , Doug Wright, and Christine Ebersole ; of the Tony award winning Grey Gardensl , Bryan Batt and Sheryl Lee Ralph.

The evening will feature a screening of the HBO Grey Gardens film, starring Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange, a Q & A session following the film with Walter, an expert on all things Grey Gardens, and a chance to show off YOUR best Little Edie impressions and outfits in a Little Edie Costume Contest. There will also be many rare Grey Gardens artifacts on display during the event.

Winner of the costume contest will receive an autographed CD and book from Walter Newkirk and a gift certificate from Goodness Gracie Specialty Foods.

Mr. Newkirk will sign copies of memoraBEALEia book ($25) and his CD Little Edie Live! A Visit to Grey Gardens ($20) = both on sale at the event.

Walter Newkirk is also the editor of the book Letters of LIttle Edie Beale: Grey Gardens and Beyond and currently working on a new book THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER NEWKIRK due fall 2014.
