Jan Moran's upcoming book highlights her extraordinary knowledge on perfuming, keen eye for romance, and ability to tell a sweeping historical debut with a unique angle. Though there have been many World War II stories told, SCENT OF TRIUMPH (St. Martin's Griffin; March 31) tells the story from the eye of a French perfumer, Danielle Bretancourt, whose beloved family is scattered across many countries. Traveling through London and Paris into occupied Poland, Danielle searches desperately for the remains of her family. Ultimately, she is forced to gather the fragments of her impoverished family and flee to America, where she vows to begin life anew, in 1940s Los Angeles.

There, through determination and talent, she rises from meager jobs in her quest for success as a perfumer and fashion designer to Hollywood elite. Set between privileged lifestyles and gritty realities, Scent of Triumph is one woman's story of courage, spirit, and resilience.

Jan Moran is a recognized expert in the world of fragrance and perfume, with features in numerous publications, providing a tangibility and authenticity to the world of Scent of Triumph. She has spoken before Fashion Group International, the Fragrance Foundation, and The American Society of Perfumers. Jan also created Scentsa, a touch-screen program for fragrance and skincare, for Sephora stores in various countries around the world.
