Smithson Buchi Ahiabuike has been writing poems since he was 12 years old. Over the years he has used this gift as a platform upon which to speak about important issues. Ahiabuike's book, "Signatures upon Cantata: Pragmatic Poems" (published by Trafford Publishing), brings together his politically charged poetry, battle cries against corruption and societal maladies detrimental to freedom.

"Signatures upon Cantata" has been selected for inclusion in the Trafford Gold Seal program, which recognizes excellence in writing and overall potential.

In "Signatures upon Cantata," Ahiabuike uses poetry as his medium to tackle the problems plaguing Africa, particularly his home country of Nigeria. He hopes his poetry will be a voice for the people who are clamoring for change and progress, as he writes with zealous patriotism and an earnest desire to see unity, pride and passion in his homeland.

"Signatures upon Cantata" is a tribute to those who have fought and are still fighting for freedom and it is a wakeup call not just for Africans, but also for anyone dreaming of a bright and better future for humankind.
