Phyllis Hoffman Releases BUTTERFLY GIRL

Palm Beach Gardens, FL

In the new inspirational memoir, "Butterfly Girl" (published by iUniverse), author Phyllis Hoffman details the journey she took to find the proper educational assistance for her daughter Troy.

"Butterfly Girl" is an emotionally charged memoir of Hoffman's motherhood, from the time she conceived to the present. Her daughter was diagnosed with childhood schizophrenia at the age of 10 after years of difficulty in the public school circuit.

"One in 10 people has a difficulty that interferes with learning," Hoffman says. "More people than ever are being diagnosed with autism and Asperger's syndrome. It is becoming more and more difficult to fund the needs of all the vulnerable people in our country."

More than a heartwarming story of fulfilling the needs of a child with mental illness, "Butterfly Girl" shows both sides of the coin; it reveals the emotional effects such a diagnosis can have on a child's parents, siblings, and extended family members.

Hoffman wants readers to know that doctors are not God, and that they should keep asking tough questions to get the best answers for their children's educational care and medical treatment.
