New Poetry Collection by Julie Hyndman is Released

A collection of life's moments of loss and love, "Pushing Shadows: Selected Poems" (published by Balboa Press AU) is Julie Hyndman's debut collection of poetry. Using imagery to stir emotions and recreating her thoughts and experiences, the poems are crafted to be clear and concise.

"At the beginning of 2015 I decided to get serious about my writing; adjusting what I was or was not doing to help or hinder the progress of my writing career," Hyndman explains. "Three days later I received an email inviting me to present at the Brisbane Writers Festival. This was affirmation indeed! Then I asked myself 'What can I do to make the most of this opportunity?'; I decided this was the moment to fulfil the long held dream of putting together my poetry and publishing it in book form."

Featuring a piece of Hyndman's own pastel artwork on the cover, "Pushing Shadows" explores the beauty of daily life and is written with a measure of humility. The collection is the culmination of her personal challenge, ultimately becoming a life-affirming work.
