When Vandy Hill contacted her long lost friend, Lenny Singleton, she hoped to rekindle the friendship they shared 28 years earlier in high school. What she didn't realize, was that she would not only be reconnecting with a long lost friend, she would also be meeting her future husband. To her horror, she discovered Lenny was sentenced to spend his life in prison. Shortly after her discovery of Lenny's situation, Vandy would be diagnosed with Stage IV Triple Negative Breast Cancer.

Lenny and Vandy Singleton invite readers to experience the true story of their "Love with a capital letter," in her new memoir, "Love Conquers All: How Love Delivered Her from Cancer & Him from Prison" (published by Balboa Press), which relates, through a series of personal letters, this inspirational and life-saving story of love.

Vandy and Lenny Singleton first met at Booker T. Washington High School, a government-funded school intended to help with desegregation. Together, the pair saw past their differences of background, upbringing and ethnicity, and became close friends. But they soon lost touch after high school, not reuniting again until 28 years later.

Throughout "Love Conquers All," readers experience, as Lenny and Vandy experienced, their lives and story unfolding as shared in their letters spanning a year and a half. Just as the two overcame the racial tensions of their high school era, they used love to overcome the bars that separate them and the potentially-fatal cancer that attempts to claim Vandy's life.

An excerpt from "Love Conquers All":

"I have been in the woods completely alone, dead to the world. No one concerned for me, dead. How am I alive without you and you and you? I need humanity to be. It is truly that simple sometimes. And completely alone in the woods sitting upon some rock what is it I hear? A fly buzzing while I die. That fly becomes the companion, the abundance. How should I kill it? It becomes the sole acknowledgement of my life."
