Author Elaine Beachy feels called by God to write books for children that will positively change family and culture. Her newest book, "Biff and Becka's Springtime Escapades" (published by WestBow Press), shows how parents' words influence children while also stimulating parent-child interaction through a whimsical story featuring animal characters.

Eight-year-old Biff and 6-year-old Becka are brother and sister rabbits and best playmates. They live with their parents in Catlett, Virginia, next to Mr. Fletcher's big farm. Whether he's crashing his bike or making a narrow escape from the back of a pickup truck, Biff has a nose for trouble. The kids at school call him "Biff Bait" because he's like a fishing line that catches and reels in trouble.

Biff struggles with his self-image and wonders what's wrong with him - why is he always in trouble? He hesitates to share his questions, feelings and thoughts with his parents, and his mother realizes that her words have an influence on her children.

"My book is unashamedly Christian, in that I provide biblical basis for a godly home with the dad as the servant leader," Beachy says. "Questions for each chapter at the end of the book encourage discussion and interaction between parent and child."
