Poet Ken Donaldson forays into the world of children's fiction with his newly published colorful picture book titled, The Mouse's Diary. The book is the first volume of a series of storybooks born out of Donaldson's passion to entertain and educate young readers. In this first story, he warps readers into a magical place and time where he rekindLes Children's spirit of adventure as well as their imagination and creativity.

The Mouse's Diary welcomes young readers to a magical world where magic and tales of adventure come to life right before their very eyes. They will see for themselves the excitement and wonders of how their two adventurers, a mouse and a raccoon, face danger and enjoy great rewards in a different time where the world is filled with magic beyond dreaming.

The story opens with a kindly old mouse. He sits down beside a camp fire, puts on his glasses and opens up a well-worn leather covered diary. The children gather round to listen to the mouse's adventures saved from days when he was young just like them. He shares the story of a mouse and a raccoon who are held captive by a very mean King. One day, Robin the Red Sparrow comes into their life and opens their minds to great adventures.

Enticing, imaginative and filled with vibrant and brightly colored illustrations by Ivan Earl Aguilar, The Mouse's Diary is an adventure that reveals Donaldson's wonderful gift of storytelling. It is an unforgettable story that young readers would love to read again and again, or pique their interest and anticipation for Donaldson's succeeding volumes.
