Petr returns from the lake with a gold disk but also find much of his memory of the lake are now missing. Greedy and villainous Dain King, obsessed with making his own kingdom of California will stop at nothing to scare Petr into revealing the location of the fortune. hidden within the lake, but in retrieving this buried treasure, loses his memories. Local miners learn of Petr's discovery and attempt to scare him into revealing the location of the fortune.

"I became fascinated by the legend of the lost Gold Lake in the Sierra Nevada when I explored the backcountry myself, hunting for gold," Clausen said. "One thing I learned in my time there, and what I share in The Gold Hunter, is that sudden wealth is not as wonderful as it seems. More often than not, gold, money and greed is the catalyst to paranoia, fear and insecurity."

The beginning of a gripping adventure for Petr, "The Gold Hunter" will have readers digging for the truth. For more information on Clausen and his book, please visit philipasclausen.com.
