POWHATAN, Va.

The author Yon Ethraim Fearshaker at a very early age would tramp through the fields of his father's farm. And through those frequent hikes he would listen to the sounds of nature and make up poetry. In "My Opened Chest" (published by Xlibris) the author shows readers his collection of poetry that he has painstakingly compiled through the years.

"My Opened Chest" is a collection of poems that the author has kept and refined through the years. The author's love for poetry stems from his days in school when his teacher read them two classic pieces of literature. The two books were Silas Marner and The Scarlet Letter. This experience prompted the author to make his own poetry and instill in him the belief that poetry is a balm that enlightens and that it is needed to help readers get through the hustle and bustle of daily life.

This collection of poems shows the author's passion for the written word and his perception towards the world.
