Children's author Ann Miles Shifler is launching a new marketing campaign for her illustrated children's book, "Memories of My Childhood" (published by AuthorHouse). Shifler is just coming out of the 2015 London Book Fair, at which she experienced great marketing success with her 2007 poetic autobiography.

In her youth, Shifler suffered from severe asthma and spent the majority of her time tucked in the warmth and comfort of her bed. There was no television. There was no Nintendo. There was only pure imagination. Her escape became her imaginative mind, fueled by fairy-tale references and the infinite possibilities lying just beyond her bedroom window.

It was in just such a setting that Shifler wrote the poem that makes up "Memories of My Childhood." Written for her mother, "Memories of My Childhood" is a testament to Shifler's undying love and appreciation for her mother. It explores the world Shifler created in her mind, taking readers above and beyond the mundane with a tour through the clouds.

An excerpt from "Memories of My Childhood":

"My window pane is like to me
A telescope where I can see.
Beyond the confines of my room
Imagined worlds of cotton wool."
