Author Linda Kirk has always been a sponge to history, especially during the era of World War II. Drawing inspiration from her love for the South Pacific, Hawaii and history, she marks her debut into the publishing world with the release of "Promises Never to be Forgotten" (published by Xlibris).

Defying the hardships of WW II, Renee Gilbier leaves the safety of Hawaii to return to the Solomon Islands deep in the war-torn Pacific. It is 1943, and even though her journey has just begun, a chance discovery of a lost, merchant schooner belonging to her father's trading company flings her head on into her past and two men shrouded in mystery, longing for her and a lost treasure of gold. With this comes an unraveling of truth that will change their lives.

Blending history and fiction, the author weaves a solid adventure with a true and loving romance wrapped in mystery. The story showcases well-drawn characters and a riveting plot filled with twists and turns that will enthrall readers from beginning to end.

"I want readers to feel what true love feels like, and how far two people would go to have that love," Kirk says.

About the Author
Linda Kirk grew up on a family owned farm in Western Colorado. Even though she loved her home in Colorado, she found her love of boats and history shadowed her throughout her life. Eventually, she married a Navy serviceman who had served aboard an aircraft carrier during the Vietnam conflict. The love of sailboats that she and her husband shared took them from the lakes of Colorado to the waters of the West Coast of the U.S., Canada and the waters off Mexico. As the mother of two children and as a safety officer for a construction company, she started the hobby of writing stories and sharing them with friends and family. Upon the urging from others, she ventured into the publishing world with the release of "Promises Never to be Forgotten."
