Author Leon Gettler says society is moving towards a knowledge-based economy in which tangible and intangible products are rapidly developed, which has resulted in more individualistic behavior. He believes this behavior has turned people into their own brands. Furthermore, he believes this trend will change where, when and how people work.

Inspired by his work experience and time he spent interviewing others, Gettler hopes to help readers prepare for this different socioeconomic climate in his new business book, "Ten Ways to Survive the Corporate World" (published by Trafford Publishing).

Gettler sees the current work climate as one where jobs are no longer permanent. He is confident that the future of employment lies within contractual arrangements between a worker and an employer. In his new book, he discusses the ways in which people today are beginning to brand themselves, something he says parallels with the idea of contractual-based work. Furthermore, he says many businesses and managers today are struggling to keep up with these various changes.

Throughout "Ten Ways to Survive the Corporate World," Gettler details the ways in which the workplace and hiring market of today is changing and has already changed. By providing guidance for both managers and employees, he is confident he can help lessen the troubles this transition might bring.
