Marriages fail for a variety of reasons and oftentimes include unfortunate circumstances. Larry Gonzales, an emerging author from California, knows this all too well and has shared his experience with the dissolution of his marriage in his book, "Shame On You!" A fiction piece based on Gonzales' 14-year marriage, the story highlights a wife's betrayal, child abduction and the joining of a religious cult.

Gonzales recounts his tale through his main character Rick Martinez, an all-American man who leads a simple life with his wife and three children in southern California. Rick's life is thrown upside down when his wife suddenly leaves the home and relocates to a cult in Missouri, kidnapping their three children in the process. The journey to save his kids and reunite his family nearly destroys Rick, but through the chaos he learns to become a better man and father.

"Shame On You! is a story full of lies, betrayal and heartbreak but it's my story," Gonzales said. "It was hard to write because I had to relive all the pain and confusion from that time in my life, but I needed to write this book. I want people to know that you can overcome any betrayal, even if it is from a spouse who abandons you in the worse way possible. You can fight through it and come out on the other side with your family."

With his debut novel, Gonzales demonstrates the power of a father's love and the length a man will go to reunite his family. A book full of twists and turns, "Shame On You!" will intrigue audiences from the first page.
