Killer Nashville Writers' Conference Kicks Off Today

This coming August, Nashville's five-star Hutton Hotel will provide the backdrop for a conference it would be a crime to miss. Agents, editors, aspiring and published authors, readers, and law enforcement professionals will gather at one of the publishing industry's favorite writers' conference, Killer Nashville, for an action-packed weekend of learning, networking, and fun.

Boasting a five-track format and three full days of stellar panels, seminars, workshops, and presentations on forensics and law enforcement protocols, writing techniques, and book marketing strategies, Killer Nashville offers something for everyone and is known for attracting the best writers and experts in the genre. CSI lovers won't want to miss the forensic track, - the highlights of which are the opening session by forensic anthropologist Hugh Berryman and the mock crime scene constructed by Assistant Director Dan Royse of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Sessions will also cover firearms, human trafficking, forensic dentistry, and more.

For aspiring authors,agent/editor round tables provide the opportunity to receive feedback and the possibility of representation from publishing professionals. Lyle, MD is an award-winning fiction author, but he may be best known among crime fiction authors for his reference books for writers. Lyle has served as a consultant for many novelists, as well as with the writers of popular television shows such as Law & Order, CSI: Miami, Diagnosis Murder, Monk, Judging Amy, Peacemakers, Cold Case, and House. He is a winner of the Macavity Award and a nominee for Edgar, Agatha, Scribe, and USA Best Book Awards.

Perry and Lyle will each have an interview, presentation and book signing today, August 24. Later that evening, attendees may join them at a special dinner in their honor. As the number of seats for the Guest of Honor dinner is limited, they will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Killer Nashville Thriller, Mystery, and Crime Literature Writers' Conference, held annually on the fourth full weekend in August, was created in 2006 by author/filmmaker Clay Stafford to bring together forensic experts, writers, and fans of crime and thriller literature.
