Kathleen Helle, a retired service worker for a police department, devoted writer and author, has completed her first book "Crossed Stars, Steel Edges": a gripping and potent story detailing the main characters' similarities that come to light and bring them together in search of justice and acceptance.

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Kathleen Helle's dramatic tale follows two characters as they seek to find themselves, accept their past and learn to love.

He was once a detective in a large city, one of the city's finest. He was driven away from what he knew and those he loved by a unrelenting secret that gnawed at him night and day, forcing him to run away to a pretend world where no one questioned his existence or validity. His reality was horrible nightmares and guilt for not going after the people who killed his partner and left him struggling to keep his secret at whatever the cost. He had a Star on Hollywood Blvd. now.

She was also a crack detective on the same department where his existence was shattered. His past was her present. She was anxious to get back out on the street and find the scum that killed her partner and left her in a state of horrific nightmares and hallucinations both day and night. Both deceived by partners they trusted. Neither knowing why. She unknown to he, he unknown to she.

Both brought together by one of their tormentors and sentenced to death by their previous tormentors.

He was afraid to be near her, which made him cold and aloof, yet he felt sorry for her. Somehow she was waking up the emotions that he had kept buried for all these years. She falling in love with him and fighting it. When she found out that he had a past that was equal to hers she got him to admit what he had never admitted to anyone.

Readers who wish to experience this potent work can purchase"Crossed Stars, Steel Edges" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
