June Harris, a retired teacher, mother of five, and grandmother of eight, has completed her new book "To Look for My Children": a gripping and potent story of one family following their dreams and overcoming the many struggles on the Oregon Tail.

When asked to describe the book, Harris stated "The book is historical fiction, based in an actual event. The story about the children and the wagon train is entirely fiction, but the parts involving the U. S. Army is factual. I have fictionalized the event for my plot purposes, but the event itself is based in fact."

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, June Harris's poignant tale will have readers mesmerized with excitement and emotion at every turn. Harris brilliantly illustrates the life and hardships of those crossing west in the late 1860's.

Caleb Lawler returns to his Tennessee farm after the Civil War, and recognizes almost immediately that it's going to be difficult, if not impossible; to keep his family from starvation on what is left of the place. If he can sell the land, however, and take his family west along the Oregon Trail, he will have a good chance of making a better living. The older children, Andy, Anne, and Maggie are enthusiastic about the notion of "westering." Their mother, Theresa Lawler, was less certain about the trip, in part because there is also two-year-old, Jerusha to consider.

Readers who wish to experience this gripping work can purchase"To Look for My Children" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
