In "My Good Women: Lessons of Love and Faith" (published by WestBow Press), author Julie A. McMurtry has assembled a compilation of stories she has garnered from her personal and professional life to give honor and appreciation to the "Good Women" in her life.

"I reflected on the women who have played influential roles in my life. I started writing their stories, largely to remind myself of who God has placed in my life - and what that encounter has taught me," McMurtry explains. "Without intending it at all, the stories quickly revealed that the women who have blessed my life have also turned my heart to the Bible - especially toward Mary. The book felt divinely inspired."

In total, there are 20 Good Women - each who provide the reader with a lesson intended to highlight women's issues and inspire a renewed faith in the Word of God.

"I want this writing to inspire readers to share the stories of their own Good Women. And if the readers suddenly find that these stories, their stories, remind them of the stories of women in the Bible? I will understand - and give thanks to God."
