Manchester, N.H.

Following Tyler Martin's heroic adventure in his first book, "A Cowboy's Vengeance", author Joe Smiga releases the newest installment to the series with "Silver Lake's Transformation" (published by Xlibris). The sequel showcases a vivid depiction of life in the west during the 1890s.

Silver Lake, a small town in Utah, seems to be content going about day to day without a sheriff. But when the notorious Stevens gang boldly rides through town one day, the need for security suddenly becomes imperative. With the help of Tyler Martin, two lawmen are hired to shelter the town from harm. Rapid changes arise along the way as new characters enter the picture and circumstantial events cause their lives to intertwine. Animating stories of struggle, love, and life are etched in detail as growth caused by stagecoach runs, the railway, having a bank, a new sheriff and bandits on the borders need to be dealt with.

In a realistic portrayal, Smiga paints a clear picture of the vintage west as he tells how changes in one small town create a ripple effect to the lives of its locals. The easy, light tone and familiar neighborhood air of the story invites readers to feel involved with the plot. When asked what readers can take away from his writing, Smiga fondly says, "A good positive experience and appreciation of the west." Tales of change, acceptance, and renewal all come together in Smiga's new western thriller.
