Corporate power and addiction are two themes that interest author Jill Wilson Brennan. Her striking novel "Skyscrapers" (published by AuthorHouse) illustrates the griming reality of corporate malfeasance and underlying drug and violence culture in urban America. With a criminal past, Vern is challenged by a beautiful and determined female competitor Ellie Smith, who hopes to take over his company. Ellie becomes a victim of random violence. Their lives become intertwined as both Vern and Ellie battle to preserve their lives and status. Their struggles against unexpected blows and twists surprise readers until the very end of the story.

Jill Wilson Brennan lives in Chicago. She obtained her bachelor's degree in University of Michigan and masters of liberal studies in Lake Forest College. Brenna is a widow with three married children and six grandchildren. Aside from the novel "Skyscrapers," she has published a non-fiction book on terrorism and gun control. She also wrote short stories and short non-fiction published in university press and small presses. Brennan is presently a governing member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. She also served as the President and CEO of Reading is Fundamental in Chicago from 1991 to 1999.
